Kelly has been with the Resource Management Department since 2008, previously in the positions of Development Geologist and Geoscience Lead. Her role as Director of Resource Management is focused on regulatory oversight of producing fields, including reservoir geoscience and engineering, measurement, production monitoring and forecasting.
She holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Geology and Environmental Science from Western University, an M.Sc. in Geology from Queen’s University, and a Ph.D. in Geology from Carleton University. Her graduate research included field-based studies in carbonate sedimentology in western Newfoundland and in the Northwest Territories. She has served two terms on the editorial board of the Bulletin of Canadian Petroleum Geology.
Kelly is a member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists and is registered as a Professional Geoscientist with PEG-NL. A committed community volunteer, she has served on a number of non-profit boards. She is a long-time youth leader with Girl Guides of Canada and is a founding member of Choral Voyages, a new chamber choir. She is originally from Conception Bay South.
