Lesley Rideout

Director, Government Relations and Communications

Lesley is responsible for external engagement, transparency, internal and external communications, media relations, and the C-NLOPB’s digital and social media presence. She has been involved in the delivery of many successful events and forums since joining the C-NLOPB in 2008, initially as a Public Relations Coordinator and then as Communications Lead. Lesley assumed her role as Director, Communications and Public Engagement in 2022 and added Government Relations to her responsibilities in 2025. Lesley is an observer on the Board of One Ocean and a member of various other working groups.

Lesley holds a B.A. from Mount Allison University, an Advanced Diploma of Public Relations from the Nova Scotia Community College and in 2022 completed the Advanced Leadership Program at Memorial University’s Gardiner Center. She is currently enrolled in Mount Saint Vincent’s Master of Public Relations program.

A former varsity athlete, Lesley continues to be heavily involved in soccer as a volunteer with the Feildian’s Athletic Association and as a player in the women’s soccer league in St. John’s. She is a frequent volunteer at her children’s school and can be counted on to help with her children’s various extracurricular activities, when needed. For a number of years, Lesley had the privilege of working as a Wish Granter with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada, where she acted as a liaison between several incredible Newfoundland and Labrador Wish recipients, their families and the foundation. In 2011, Lesley was honoured to be a recipient of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada, Volunteer Spirit Award.
