Rob McGrath is the Director of Industrial Benefits with the C-NLOPB where he has been employed since June 2021. After graduating from Memorial University in 2002 with a Master of Arts Degree, Rob spent two years working in London, England and traveling across Europe. Rob moved back to Newfoundland and Labrador in 2005 and obtained employment with the Provincial Government. Over the next 12 years, Rob held progressively responsible positions, including several years as the Director of Industrial Benefits with the Department of Natural Resources. In this role, Rob interacted regularly with oil and gas operators, the supply community and industry representatives and was responsible for negotiating and monitoring Benefits Agreements for offshore developments. In 2017, Rob moved into the private sector and spent the next four years securing business opportunities and acquisitions, locally, nationally and internationally. Throughout his career, Rob has been a strong advocate for optimal Newfoundland and Labrador and other Canadian benefits from the local offshore oil and gas industry.
In his spare time, Rob can be found on the soccer field coaching his daughters with the St. John’s Soccer Association. Rob is also an active volunteer in the local community, most recently serving on the Executive of the Bowring Park Foundation.
Rob lives in St. John’s with his wife and two daughters.
