Corridor Resources Inc. submitted a project description for a drilling program for an exploration well offshore western Newfoundland and Labrador on the Old Harry Prospect. The project was listed on the Inclusion List Regulations under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (S.C. 1992, c. 37) (CEAA) and required a Screening level of assessment. On July 6, 2012, the Minister of the Environment designated the project pursuant to subsections 124(2) and 14(2) of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 (CEAA 2012), so the screening for the project continued to be completed under CEAA. On January 15, 2017 the C-NLOPB issued Exploration Licence (EL) 1153 covering the Old Harry Prospect to Corridor in exchange for surrender of EL 1105. Corridor Resources Inc. plans to drill an exploration well offshore western Newfoundland and Labrador on the Old Harry Prospect by January 14, 2020, the expiration date of EL 1153.

On August 28, 2019, the Impact Assessment Act came into force, replacing the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012. As a result, the screening, which was being conducted under the former Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, was terminated per the transitional provisions of the Impact Assessment Act.
