Consultations on draft Guidelines Respecting Financial Requirements and draft Administrative Monetary Penalty Guidelines

The National Energy Board (NEB), the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) and the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB) have jointly developed draft Guidelines Respecting Financial Requirements and draft Administrative Monetary Penalty Guidelines.

These guidelines were developed as a result of the Energy Security and Safety Act (ESSA), equivalent provincial legislation in Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia, and associated regulations. New legislative provisions and regulations are expected to come into force on February 26, 2016.

The three Boards are currently seeking comments on the draft Guidelines Respecting Financial Requirements. The deadline for comments on this guidance is January 8, 2016.

The three Boards are also seeking comments on the draft Administrative Monetary Penalty Guidelines. The deadline for such comments has been extended to January 28, 2016.

Comments on these guidelines may be submitted to the address below or emailed to consultation@cnsopb.ns.ca. Upon receipt, all submissions will be shared between the three Boards.
