C-NLOPB Responding to SBM Spill from GSF Grand Banks

Husky Energy reported a loss of approximately 600 litres of Synthetic Based Mud (SBM or Drilling Fluid) from the GSF Grand Banks to the sea.

The spill occurred during normal drilling operations. Husky Energy reported that a small amount of discoloration of the water from
SBM was noticed on the surface for approximately 3-4 minutes before
being dispersed by wave motion. Drilling operations have been suspended and Husky Energy is investigating the cause.
