Husky Energy has notified the C-NLOPB that on December 9, 2017, an employee on the Henry Goodrich Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit, lost his footing while conducting routine maintenance and fell to the deck, sustaining injuries.
The injured person received initial treatment by the rig’s medic, and was conscious and alert throughout the incident. He was then brought to the hospital in St. John’s by medevac that day, where he has been assessed and is being treated for his injuries.
A rig-wide safety stand down was initiated and Husky has mobilized an investigation team to the rig. The C-NLOPB is monitoring Husky’s continued investigation of the incident.
