Husky Energy has reported that on October 4, 2016, a Cougar helicopter while enroute from St. John’s to the SeaRose FPSO, experienced a Tail Rotor De-Ice fail warning light approximately 50 nautical miles North East of St. John’s. There were 11 passengers and two flight crew onboard.
The helicopter returned to St. John’s. Following trouble shooting, Cougar Helicopters identified, resolved and function tested the aircraft which has since been returned to service.
