Husky Energy has reported a high potential near miss that occurred on the GSF Grand Banks drilling rig on October 16, 2014. A 3 lb hang off line retention clamp dropped approximately 40 ft to the drill floor. There were no injuries. A Time Out for Safety was taken, rig operations were suspended and a safety stand down was communicated by the Offshore Installation Manager to the drill team once the rig floor was secure. Husky is investigating the incident.
