Husky Energy has reported a major hydrocarbon gas release from subsea equipment in the Southern Drill Center. The release occurred on August 31, 2015. Husky estimates that 8938kg of natural gas was released to the sea during the incident. This release was shut off within 12 minutes of the initial alarm.
The Atlantic Osprey has been mobilized to the Southern Drill Center to investigate with a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). The C-NLOPB is reviewing the incident and Husky is continuing its investigation.
