Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Energy Regulator Cost Recovery Formula Fees Schedule for the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year

Pursuant to the Energy Safety and Security Act (2015) and the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Cost Recovery Regulations, the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Energy Regulator (C-NLOER) is responsible for recovering the costs associated with regulating offshore petroleum and renewable energy activity from applicants and operators on behalf of both governments.

Annually, the C-NLOER is required to post a schedule of formula fees (see tables below). These formula fees will be updated each fiscal year upon confirmation of the C-NLOER’s budget. The C-NLOER’s fiscal year runs from April 1st-March 31st.

The Regulations, which came into force on April 1, 2016 can be accessed here:

The C-NLOER and the Canada Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator (CNSOER) have jointly developed Cost Recovery Guidelines, which can be found here: http://www.cnlopb.ca/pdfs/guidelines/costrecovery.pdf

(Note: All fees are in Canadian dollars.)
