Operating Licence

Any individual or corporation may apply for an Operating Licence by completing and forwarding an Operating Licence Application form to the Board’s Legal and Land Department.

Operating Licences are issued for a maximum period of one year and are valid from their commencement date to the March 31st following and are not transferable. It is the Operator’s responsibility to ensure that these licences are renewed before they become due in order to continue work in the offshore area.

The statutory requirements pertaining to Operating Licences are specified in sections 137 and 138 of the Atlantic Accord Act and in the Newfoundland Offshore Area Oil and Gas Operations Regulations.
