The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jill Mackey, B.Sc. (Hons), B.Ed., P.Eng., CRSP as Chief Safety Officer (CSO), effective today, October 29, 2024.
Previously our Director of Safety, Jill has been with the C-NLOPB since 2012, having also served as Safety Officer and Lead Safety Officer. She graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and is a Professional Engineer, a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and holds a certificate in Strategic Management of Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies from the Harvard Kennedy School. She replaces Paul Alexander, who moves into a Senior Advisor role prior to his well-earned retirement at the end of December.
Jill, Paul and other C-NLOPB senior staff are attending the International Regulators Forum and International Offshore Environmental Petroleum Regulators Annual General Meetings this week in Dublin, Ireland. Members will discuss shared priorities and interests, including the International Regulators Forum safety conference taking place in St. John’s next October. Registration is scheduled to open early next year.
