Update to Petroleum Reserves and Resources arising from the Harpoon Discovery

For Immediate Release
January 7, 2021

After analyzing technical data provided by the applicant, the C-NLOPB issued a Significant Discovery Licence (SDL 1058) to Equinor Canada Ltd. in October 2020, based on the Harpoon O-85 exploration well.

The C-NLOPB’s interpretation of well and seismic data has resulted in an update to its reserves and resources table, with the addition of the Harpoon discovery in the “Resources” section. The recoverable oil volume from the Harpoon discovery is estimated to be 40 million barrels.
