C-NLOPB Corrects CIVC Statement Regarding the Status of Drilling Operations

The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board
(C-NLOPB) wishes to advise that contrary to recent media reports based on a news release issued January 5, 2012 by Canadian Imperial Venture Corporation (CIVC), drilling operations remain suspended at the Shoal Point 3K-39Z well. The C-NLOPB is currently reviewing documentation submitted by the Operator in respect of resuming drilling activity; however, requisite approvals from the C-NLOPB to the Operator have not yet been issued.
