The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board
(C-NLOPB) is today announcing details of three Calls for Bids in the Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area.

Prospective bidders are advised that the C-NLOPB is currently updating the Western Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Report and will complete a report for the Eastern Newfoundland SEA in 2014. The Board will consider any recommendations made in these SEA reports and, where necessary, may amend the Calls for Bids.
The closing date for each Call for Bids shall be 120 days after the completion of the relevant SEAs. Notification of the closing date and time for each Call for Bids will be posted at later dates on the Board’s website.
With respect to Calls for Bids Nos. NL13-01 and NL13-02, the C-NLOPB informs prospective bidders for parcels located in areas partially or entirely beyond Canada’s 200 nautical mile zone, in order to meet obligations arising pursuant to article 82 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, additional terms and conditions may be applied through legislation, regulations, amendments to licences or otherwise.
Notification of any changes to these Calls for Bids will be posted on the Board’s website.
