The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) announced today that the North Amethyst Development Plan amendment is approved.

At its September 23, 2013 meeting, the Board approved the North Amethyst Development Plan amendment for the Hibernia Formation development project outlined in Decision Report 2013.06. In its deliberation the Board considered advice provided in the Development Plan staff analysis.

Under the Atlantic Accord Implementation Acts, Fundamental Decisions of the Board must be ratified by both governments before they can be implemented. The Board’s Approval of the North Amethyst Development Plan Amendment was a Fundamental Decision. Approval of the Development Plan Amendment by both governments now enables Husky Oil Operations Limited to proceed with development of the Hibernia Formation development project.
