The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board
(C-NLOPB) is today identifying a second sector in the Eastern Newfoundland Region in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area. A sector represents the specific geographic location for which a call for bids will take place in the scheduled land tenure system. Sectors are identified at the beginning of the land tenure process, such that industry will have a known call for bids area with a longer lead schedule, allowing additional time for exploration assessment.

Eastern Newfoundland Region – Sector NL02-EN

For the Eastern Newfoundland Region of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area, the selected Sector NL02-EN is described in the attached map and legal description.

Interested parties will be given an opportunity to nominate parcels within the sector at a later date. The complete sector area will be subdivided into parcels which will be made available for licencing subject to a Board decision and Ministerial ratification.
