The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) has identified the first sector in the South Eastern Newfoundland Region and the second sector in the Labrador South Region, within which interested parties will be given the opportunity to nominate parcels early in 2018.

South Eastern Newfoundland Region – Sector NL01-SEN

For the South Eastern Newfoundland Region of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area, Sector NL01-SEN is described in the attached map and legal description.

Labrador South Region – Sector NL02-LS

For the Labrador South Region of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area, Sector NL02-LS is described in the attached map and legal description.

Sectors are identified at the beginning of the land tenure process, so that industry will have a known call for bids area within a longer lead schedule, allowing additional time for exploration assessment. These sectors will be sub-divided into parcels that will be made available for licencing in a summer 2018 Call for Bids, pending Board approvals and Ministerial ratification. The Call for Bids will close in the fall of 2019, and successful bidders will be awarded licences in early 2020.
