Patrick is a retired energy executive having worked in both the private and public sectors for over two decades. He has extensive experience in energy regulation, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and strategy development. Patrick was most recently Vice President responsible for safety, security and integrity at the Canadian Energy Pipelines Association (CEPA). Prior to joining CEPA, Patrick spent seven years in an executive leadership role with Canada’s National Energy Board (now the Canada Energy Regulator) and eight years in various roles with the province of British Columbia, where he split his time between the Ministry of Energy and Mines, and the Oil and Gas Commission.

Patrick has served on committees with the Canadian Standards Association and Energy Safety Canada, has represented CEPA on the Board of the CEPA Foundation, and currently sits as a Board Member on the Canadian Institute of Nondestructive Examination.

Patrick holds a Diploma of Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, a BComm and MBA from Royal Roads University and a Certificate in OHS from the University of New Brunswick. He is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
